About

I’m Christine — business journalist, sports fanatic, former ASU Sun Devil and now energy markets reporter for Bloomberg News in New York City. I recently graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where I majored in print/digital journalism with a business journalism specialization. I also have a minor in political science from the College of Liberal Arts and Science.

During my time in college, I had the opportunity to work for news organizations including: The Phoenix Business Journal, The Seattle Times, AZ Fact Check/The Arizona Republic, Cronkite News Service and the State Press. I've covered everything from elections to environmental policy and real estate but didn't find a true thrill for reporting until I began writing about markets. It's a pure rush of adrenaline -- a constant exchange and flow of information and real-time data not found elsewhere. Besides, market coverage targets an audience out to place monetary bets all day every day. And to help them make their decisions .... well that's a lot of fun, too.

Aside from being a business junkie and news geek, I have three great passions in life: running, books and Major League Baseball. Truth be told, I live for the months from April to October when it's all baseball, all the time. If I could live on a baseball field, chances are .... I'd do it. But because I’m focusing on my career in journalism, I intend to spend the next 30 years of my life doing one thing — telling stories; true, real, accurate stories.

"Our job is only to hold up the mirror— to tell and show the public what has happened." — Walter Cronkite.

All the best,
Christine M. Harvey
